Socobell OEM is a plastic injection moulding and tooling company that manufactures high precision plastic components. As a mainstream supplier to the automotive industry, Socobell OEM
produces a
generous cross section of automotive parts, ranging from interior trim and sub-assemblies
such as centre consoles, seat trims, instrument panel facias, full width crash pad
(dashboard) mouldings, door trims, under-bonnet, under chassis, and safety related
components such as driver and passenger airbag parts, seat belt components, etc. Socobell
OEM has been a key Toyota supplier for 25 years.
Socobell OEM is also a major supplier to the white goods industry and is one of the major suppliers to Southcorp Appliances (Hoover appliances) in Melbourne.
The company operates from an integrated site of approximately 10,000 square metres in Spotswood, Melbourne, employing 150 staff. The plant has a notable capacity of 30 moulding machines ranging from 80 tonne to 1600 tonne working continuously on a 24 hour basis. The tool room is geared up for CAD/CAM manufacture and has capacity to construct tools weighing up to 10 tonnes.
Our strengths lie in our speedy service to our customers as well as our technical know-how and competence in resolving tooling and moulding problems. We believe our moulding expertise, in particular, is of a very high standard.
Key elements of our factory system have been an aggressive investment in the latest
computerised equipment, standardised work practices, JIT production and inventory control,
active quality circle groups, production systems based on TPS and Quality Certification to
QS9000 and ISO 9002.
